THANK YOU TO THE ARTISTS
I need a moment to acknowledge the artists of the world! I believe we are on the brink of a creative revolution and here’s why.
Have you heard this too lately? “I miss live concerts.” “ I can’t wait for my favorite restaurant to go back to it’s full menu.” “It’s hard to believe no parade this year.” “I just want to hang out with my people” “I miss going to things, hearing speakers, museums, fun events…you know the cool stuff!” “Have you seen the living statues at the Waterfire event? They’re my favorite part”.
Sounds to me like what the general public has been missing the most throughout this pandemic is ART! The many creative experiences that only artists bring to life on the public’s behalf. You know, all the things that get’s the least amount of public funding by voters?
The thing we all too often discourage our children to grow up and be and yet…we now know first hand what a life with way less art looks and feel like. Way less awesome. Hopefully this is a wake up call to both public and artist alike. Public-you need us.
To my non artists recognize that life is simply not as magical, beautiful, fun or engaging with out the artists and artists: own your value now and others will as well. Remind the world how it is without you. Without us the public has their work, their people, the status quo, the routine and the mundane. With us we ALL live more alive, inspired and connected. So join me in thanking the artists in your life for making it a much better place to be because of them, their bravery, their sacrifice and their inspiration.
Thank you for being a creative inspiration to me. Thank you for taking the risk to create something from nothing. Thank you for putting it out there for the rest of us to witness. Thank you for sharing that part of you with me. Thank you for reveling in the joy of making art. Thank you for giving me the deep knowing that I am not alone in my need to express myself through my creativity. Thank you for your courage to create and be seen. Thank you for creating so much of what makes my life beautiful.
