Letting your intuition lead

It was Summer 2015 when we first met.  Both of us had been serendipitously guided to Camp GLP; a makeshift summer camp for adults by “Good Life Project” podcast host Jonathan Fields and his wife Stephanie in New York’s Hudson River Valley.

For years we had been in one another’s orbit and social media feeds. We shared a mutual adoration from afar  but had never really spent much time together.

Committed further to leading with my intuition this year, I’ve challenged myself to take action on the nudges, whispers and shouts from unseen forces and trust their guidance. I kept hearing “reach out to Constance”.

So last week when I knew I’d be near NYC I followed the tap and reached out to her to see if she’d want to meet up.

A 5 minute walk from Grand Central to her place, took this accidental tourist about 15 minutes thanks to the bizarre game of cat and mouse that the blue dot in my maps app decided to play with me as I tried to follow its lead to her apartment.

She had prepared a delicious brunch. For three hours we talked and talked and talked like old friends in her lovely apartment.

We swapped stories of life, love, reinventing ourselves and cultivating the courage to do so. Both podcasters in our own right, we talked shop and shared practical suggestions.

Time fell away as we connected about the things that really matter to us: our families, creativity, the importance of having great and interesting friends, deepening our own self awareness and experiencing a greater sense of fellowship in our lives now at a time when the world can feel so isolating.

As I basked in the glow of our visit on the train ride home,  I felt grateful for my new-ish friend and the reminder that following my intuition and curiosity really do consistently lead me to the most surprising and delightful experiences of my life.

Get quiet. Listen to the whisper of your soul. What is it calling you to do? Be brave enough to take its bait. Miracles are waiting for you and maybe so are some new friends.
